Ludger,
The age is about right. I guess we'll have to wait for the SS experts to take a peek.

Ludger,
It looks very much like him to me. His mouth is identical! Anybody else care to comment?

I don't think there's any doubt.

Gentlemen, any comments on the (existent or non-existent) similarities of these two?

The source of the second picture is Helmut Gollwitzer (ed.), Hören und Handeln (Munich 1962), Foto copyright given as "Lafer". The book is a festschrift for Ernst Wolf's 60th birthday.

Grisu,

This is somewhat surprising to me, Ian, but yet I think my expectations may have biased my perception of the second picture in advance. To me, the hairline and especially the ears are very similar in both pictures while additionally the mouth and the nose bear some distinct resemblances in shape/form; to a lesser degree - but still, in my possibly distorted view - the chin. Any more views on that one?

Wolf's nose IMHO has a slight arch in the bridge and flares at the tip while the other nose
is straight and the tip tight.

Hans Zimmermann:

16.02.1940 - 04.04.1942 temporarily charged with leadership of the Gau Franken (seated Nürnberg); succeeded Julius Streicher who had been suspended that day. See attached picture from Kienast, Erich (1943): Der Großdeutsche Reichstag, S. 536 as comparison.

Hi Ludger,
Thanks for that. Much appreciated. Was Wolfgang known as Georg?
