Hitler didn´t like football. Probably he didn´t like sports at all (didn´t practise), but he sometimes spoke affirmativly about boxing , wrestling, shooting (make german boys tough)
Hitler visited only one football match: during Olympic games 1936 he saw Germany vs Norway. Germany lost and he was very angry...
If he liked football his team might have been Linzer ASK?( his "home town")

I think Hitler live in Berlin long time. May be this reason Hitler team is Herta Berlin.

Uzun süre Berlin'de yaşadı. Herta Berlin'de eski, Bundesliga'nın köklü takımlarından bu nedenle Herta Berlin 'li olabilir diye düşündüm. :D

He would have liked to kick a field goal near the end of the war using Georing as the ball!

In the 80's/90's fans of Fc Utrecht and Feyenoord used to sing that Hitler was a fan of their club. They sang this when they had to play against rival Ajax (who are having the image of a Jews club >> supporters are wearing the star of David on flags and caps etc.

It's a sick song. But I thought worth mentioning in this (dubious) topic.

Linzer Athletik Sportklub = LASK
The name changed sometimes, but its a traditionel football club. It wasn´t so important at Hitler´s time, but later they were for decades in Austrian first division. In 1965 LASK was the first not-vienna club that won austrian football championship. Actually they are leader in first division (but only 2 rounds were played yet)
During 3rd Reich, Hertha BSC was an important football club in Berlin, but f.e. Viktoria, Berlin SV 92 and Blau-Weiss also won Berlin championship. Others were Union 06, Union Oberschoeneweide and Tennis Borussia (but that was an upper class and "jewish" club so Hitler wouldn´t have liked them of course)

I seriously bet Adolf liked SANTOS FC (the greatest team of all, where The Athlete of the Century Pelé played).

"...and got that old feeling in his (our) heart..." :D

Hi,
I read that (Funny) thread and I fully agree with ManfredV.
Hitler had no interest in sports except some sports, as mentionned, to prepare the Hitlerjugend to the sole serious sport for Hitler : War.

Mmmh, and what about a kick end 1940, using Churchill as the ball ?

My understanding is that Hitler disliked football. However, he did like athletics and other sports, as was apparent in the 1936 Olympics. Had Germany won WW2, there is no doubt that events like the World Cup and the Olympics would have been abolished, as no foreign team could be allowed to be seen beating a German team. Other types of competitions would have been created, with only Aryan teams taking part, maybe mixed nationality teams to avoid the possibility of a wholly German team losing.

In 1934, they lost in the final to Schalke 04 a club that would go on to become the strongest side in the era of football under the Third Reich. Nürnberg would capture national titles just before and after World War II in 1936 and 1948 in the first post-war national final, and would also take the Tschammerpokal, the forerunner of today's German Cup, in 1935 and 1939.

"Der Club" plays in the communally owned Frankenstadion, which until recently accommodated 46,700 spectators (34,700 seats). The stadium was built in 1928 and was known as Stadion der Hitler-Jugend from 1933 to 1945.

These are only information.
