What is the best history book about Germany during WW2?

Hello

I spent eight years living in Germany as a kid in the 80s and moved to Canada in 94. I have always been interested in German history. It’s very rich and beautiful.

I have been talking to a lot of veterans from the war and people who lived in Germany during the war. The Germany being presented in my history books in Canada just don’t sync with what the people who lived through it say. I am not denying or I haven’t talked to any who deny the atrocities that occurred. I am just saying there are two sides to the story and one side is prominently told by the winner of the war.

Thank you

Olikoth
