Hi all
Article 48 was the amendment to the constitution that gave emergency powers but was abused by HIndenburg allowing him to ignore the wishes of the Reichstag. Hope this is what your looking for!

Correct. Hindenburg made use of it to prop up the Governments who couldn't command a majority in the Reichstag.

When Hitler initially became chancellor, who were the two other Nazi party members in the cabinet and what were their posts? Good luck!

Hi Christian,

No, it was a case of "I know I've read it somewhere" and looking blanky at my bookshelf for a while, until one small book seemed to put it's hand in the air like a schoolboy saying "Please sir, I know"!

So...which former WW1 U-Boat "Ace" formed and led a Freikorps Sturmbattalion of the III. Marine Brigade?

Cheers
Chris

Hi!

Sorry for the delay in posting but I was away fishing for a couple of days. An easy one:-

Name the Presidents of the Weimar Republic.

Hi!

A week has gone without reply, so in the words of the well-known Pink Floyd song (doesn't that just date me!!): "Is there anybody out there?" :D

Hi VJK,
I was avoiding going for this one because I'm not sure if I'm right but as nobody else has gone for it either I'll give it a go.
I think there were just two Presidents:
Friedrich Ebert 1919-25 and Paul Von Hindenburg 1925-34...this answer seems too easy to be true though...
Cheers

Hi Chris!

As you so rightly suspected, it's not quite as straightforward as that! :D
There were also 2 acting Presidents during the time span.

VJK

Hans Luther(28 Feb-12 March 1925)

Hi Moulded!

I'll forgive you your little misprint "Walter Simons(12 March-12 May 1945)", after all, what's a mere 20 years! :D

Otherwise correct and your go.

VJK
