I was watching the history channel and they said that sometime after
D-day a huge storm came over the channel and disrupted supply lines. They talked briefly about it and said that it proved allied might. Does anyone have any info on this storm and how much it impacted the allies advance?

On June 19 the worst storm in 40 years hit the channel. The effects were indeed profound. The mulberry harbor of Omaha beach was wrecked in the trhree day storm and the British one at Arromanches was damaged. Carlo D'Este gives ckaims that around 140 000 tons of materiel were lost and that about 800 ships were beached or lost (p. 230). The storm also upset the landing schedule, delaying the influx of reinforcements even more.

Hope this helps some.
