Men's hair styles...
Hi everyone!
I am widely interested in the hair style of german men during the Third Reich. If anyone has good pictures of officers, soldiers or party funktionaries during regular day to day duty, with cap or helmet of, I would much appretiate seeing them! I am interested in hair, so no pictures with caps or helmets on, please!
regards,
Dustin

Hi there!
Regretably for myself... I'm a subject to "early hair loss"! *sigh* It runs in the family, so I don't look so good in the hairstyles I see in photos, not in the ones you've posted here either. I have been searching for photos of germans with VERY short hair or possibly even machine shaved... Was this an option for soldiers?
None the less, thank you very much for the photos posted so far! And for the description of how you get a german military hair cut!
Regards,
Dustin

Haircuts
Hi all, my Dad who was an American G.I in Germany in the last few months of WW2 and then stationed at Flak Kasserne in Augsburg used to call the German army haircuts "Whitewalls" as in tires!because they cut the sides so close thier white skin showed through on the sides. The top was often refered to as a brush cut.

Yes,Nearly all higher ranking guys had the same type of hair cut.
It's similar to today's "Surfer cut" but it's combed to the side with a crease down it on the right or the left side.Very common everywhere.
Sometimes in certan officers you will see it combed back totally. And in other officers you see no special haircut.
I personally have the surfer cut type slicked to the side.
