Nivea isn't intended for hair.
Nivea is a brand name making many different products, including facial cream (what you're thinking of), shaving cream, hair tonic, etc. etc.

As uncomfortable as it may be, you should ask for an Adolf Hitler style. Except instead of sending it all back, he did his famous part on the top right side of his head and sending hair sideways towards left. I went to a barber with a picture of an SS soldier, with the SS blanked out, and we almost got it right. Barbers, so-called stylists, here are stuck in a mould and give everyone same hairstyle, despite picture, drawings and explanations.

You may not get it the 1st time...

J.

PS anyone care to take a guess at what this guy here has in his hair? not gel or mousse, and not pommade.

Wasn't one of the more popular styles (as evidenced by the previous photos) with not just the sides and rear close-cropped, but with the top long enough to be either worn slicked-back (or at least pushed back as with v. Ribbentrop above) OR swept forward to achieve a cowlick?
The "pushed-back" top I mean is shown here with Leon Degrelle.

(I have 1 or 2 photos I can show also)

Could a side parting be used for the image?
Is thin hair neccessary for that image?
I was also wondering about Brylcreem.
The slicked-back, glossy image is shown as here.

Eindhoven, in your photo of the Windhund Div officers, isn't the second from left, with the Grossdeutschland and Afrika cuffbands on his greatcoat, Hasso von Manteuffel?
Cheers

I know ,that he has Water in his hair. But many germans in this time there very poor, the normal german worker cannot buy pommade or Gel so they use the following :

Curd Soap (Kernseife) if you put this in your hair you can fix your hair also (you must only use a little bit and not to much)

Pommade or gel only richer germans and officers use, the normal german soldier from the under class use curd soap (or nothing)
Beer? Eggs?
Ugh ! No !! (in medical cases this things were used, for example against hair loss, but after some minutes you wash this out of your hair)

Jeremy,

Yes it is indeed Hasso von Manteuffel. Here he is again wearing both titles:D You are also correct on style. The top was longer and could be worn to the side, slicked back, given finger waves. The top needs to be long in order for it's own weight to hold it back when greased.

I venture the SS mann has just used some water to slick back the top. Again, SS generally went really short whereas regulars of various branches tended to have longer hair on sides and back.

Very nice pictures, i've used some years a hairstyle described above. I think it is the most handsome there is and gives a strong, militaristic attitude towards other people from my political visions :)

very very nice pictures...as a girl of course I'm not going to get this haircut, but I have the added bonus of enjoying some pleasant looking men on my lunch break. The soldier drinking water is awfully nice.

It would be nice to have more guys getting this kind of haircut...I know it turns *my* head...
