You're quite right Mark, my mistake - I was actually wondering about the furniture in the bunker :-)

According to http://www.ritterkreuztraeger-1939-45.d ... heodor.htm Tolsdorffs appointment came on April 1! Would that be the date on which he was in Berlin?!

Thanks for the new pics Mark, I hadn't seen any of them before. You have maybe hit the jackpot with your suggestion that it could be the last ever photo of Hitler. Is that Keitel lurking in the background? It sure looks like him.

The photo on page 8 of Hitler and his entourage in the garden taken over the heads of the HJ boys has obviously been taken from the portico/terrace outside Hitler's office.

Kind regards.
The truth is that you're a quiet, sensitive type, but if I'm prepared to take a chance I might just get to know the inner you: witty, adventurous, passionate, loving, loyal, a little bit crazy, a little bit bad, but, hey, don't us girls just love that?

By the way...what I'd really like to know is what the guy is telling Hitler when they both were standing in the ruins of the Reichs Chancellery (see pics on page 1)...

Halfdan:

The photo of Sepp Dietrich and Hitler with Fegelein was taken at the Wolfschanze on August 6, 1944 when Dietrich received his diamonds. There is a larger version of this which shows the entire room and Otto Guensche.

Yeah, Jeff told me - as I understand the pic was used on the cover of Stuttgarter Illustrierte . . .

Dr.Kubler wrote:I have heard that there is an unreleased photo of Hitler in the bunker that is in the hands of the son of the photographer. It was a bunker occupant and not a professional who took the picture. It was prior to the Russians arrival.
Considering Eva Braun's 'hobby' of taking photographs, is it possible she might have taken some "unofficial" photos during her stay in the bunker? It seems strange that she wouldn't have wanted some sort of "proof" of the wedding ceremony, in the form of a photograph, considering she probably wasn't privvy to the exact date of their impending suicide...most married women do like that sort of thing....of course, I'm sure if there were any photos, they are most probably buried deep in some obscure, Soviet archive....

The photos at the start of this thread are a little more recent than may have been thought:

UberAllies:

I guess I am missing your point. What does the movie "Downfall" have to do with Hitler's Last Appearance before the cameras???

Todomodo:

None of the photos taken on March 20, 1945 were taken by Walter Frentz. ALL photos were taken by Heinrich Hoffmann's assistants, who appear in SS uniform and can be seen in the newsreel films of this event.

Here is the fascinating documentary Hitler's private World in which they use technology to lip read Hitler's home movies. If you start here at 5:30 you 'll see him at the bunker about to congratulate members of the HJ, among whom is Armin Lehmann who remembers what Hitler said to him, and is corroborated by the use of this technology on the film footage.

Keir:

This has been mentioned before about Lehmann. He was NOT present for the ceremony that is shown in this documentary. This event was which was filmed was on MARCH 20th. The ceremony that Lehmann participated in took place in the Ehrenhof of the Reichschancellery on APRIL 20th and WAS NOT filmed. These two events have always been mistaken for eachtother. The one Lehmann was at, included only a handful of HJ's, whereas the one on MARCH 20th which was filmed had around 20 members present.
