SOE Agent
Does anyone know where I can find a list of SOE agents serving in Yugoslavia?
It concerns a very close family friend, a Mr Jetson, who actively engaged in helping Tito, and who was decorated at the end of the war for his actions.
Thanks in advance!

I have read many books on the subject, but never found a complete list. Alas, there is not yet even an official history of SOE in the Balkans, the way there is on SOE in Scandinavia, France, and the Far East.
The British military mission to Yugoslavia was quite large. Moreover, more people than just SOE were in Yugoslavia, so are you sure that he was SOE?

There is no SOE agent named JETSON listed among the SOE personal files
held at The National Archives, Kew, UK (Public Record Office).
This does not necessarily mean JETSON did not exist, he may have been
part of a Military Mission to Yugoslavia and therefore not a SOE agent.
JETSON does not have an English "feel", maybe he was an OSS agent?

ShinjiMimura,
There was a Ronald Jephson with the first mission to Tito.
He was the radio operator. He parachuted in with Major William D. Jones (Canadian) and Captain A.D.N. Hunter on May 18th, 1943.
Jones wrote a book, Twelve Months with Tito's Partisans. (1946)

Re: SOE Agent
My father's name was Ronald Jephson (seargant) and he served in Jugoslavia with SOE. One account of his time there is included in the book "The Forgotten Ones" by Sir Philip Joubert de la Ferte - I have a signed copy of this book. I also have some of my father's papers and he does give some names of people he was with and met up with, although, of course, not a full list.
I can hunt out some information, but this is likely to be after Christmas now!
Regards
Pauline Walters (nee Jephson)

Hi Pauline,
Would you happen to have any images of your father with any of the Canadian volunteers with the SOE in Yugoslavia? I am doing some research into their fascinating story....

Frank

Re: SOE Agent
I don't know if you have found what you are looking for but strange as it may sound the American Library of Congress has more documents and information about SOE than anywhere else I have ever looked.
