You might call this vehicle a Euro-American hybrid.

Hi Max,

could it be a Chevrolet 1937 Trado gun tractor, maybe of the Dutch Army?

Best regards

Bert

Hi Bert and Dirk,
Yes, Bert is correct and Dirk found the actual pic I used from http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/showthread.php?t=3487. This particular '37 Chevy may or may not have been captured by the Nationalists at some point, but many similar DAF/Trado 6x4 conversions (Chevys and Fords) were captured from the Dutch army and put to work as gun tractors or signals vehicles in the Wehrmacht, at least so I've read.

So congrats and carry on with your next question, Bert.
Cheers,
Max

Hi Max, hi Dirk,

thank You. Without Your hint I could not ID this vehicle.
Sorry, I have no good pic of a vehicle to ID. So, please, try it with this ambulance I posted 16 Nov on the thread with graffiti.

Best regards

Bert

Hi Max,

excellent! You are absolutely right. It is a Mercedes-Benz L 1000 Express Landpostwagen. It is a pity, that then there weren´t colored pics. This vehicles of the Reichspost had a red color. I have the information, that the Kranken-Kraftwagen-Zug 54 of the 1. Gebirgsdivision (1. mountain division) got such red vehicles in lack of ambulances (source: Waffen-Arsenal Band 94: "Mercedes im Kriege" by Reinhard Frank). Here a pic of such a vehicle standing in the depot of the Museum for communication in Frankfurt / Main (source: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datei:Dai ... 082011.JPG).
Now it´s Your turn to go on with the quiz.

Best regards

Bert

Hello Bert,
That's interesting. Why are some restored RP vehicles painted yellow? Is that incorrect? Anyway here is a nice little model of that type vehicle.

Hi Max,

an interesting question. Here the solution: the vehicles of the "Reichspost" in the Weimar Republic were yellow, the vehicle of the "Deutsche Reichspost" in the Third Reich were red since 1934. Here two models of the same type with different colors and emblems of the Reichspost (eagles) (source: https://www.ebay.de/itm/BUB-018023-Merc ... SwEWtZsRS4).

Best regards

Bert

Yes, I agree although it appears the bed has been shortened to accommodate the gasifier.
Please go ahead with the next question.
