Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Sturm,
IMO it is a 261. It appears to have the screened cupola rather than the solid panel one of the 223:

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Everyone. Back again for your help. I thought i was getting better at half track identification but is this a Sd.kfz. 7 or 8? im not seeing enough curved lip over the front drive sprocket for an 8, but defiantly looks larger? Its towing a balloon winch trailer 39 and has front attachment for launching the balloon not just from the trailer but using a pulley on the front. Thanks for any help

I agree with you about the six hole front wheels, did search my hole collection of Ford vehicle photo's and did not fine a a 6 hole wheel.
Or it is the picture giving the impression of a 6 hole wheel or a field conversion.
With kind regards
Bert

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Bert,
Yes it's still puzzling to me. Maybe just a trick of light and shadow or, as you say, a replacement wheel..

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hello. Here i believe a mittlerer geländegängiger Personenkraftwagen hidden behind everyone. However the 2 spare wheels may indicate model type. Anyone an idea on the make of vehicle please

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi fliegerhorst,
sorry, that´s not a "mittlerer geländegängiger Personenkraftwagen", but a semi-track tractor. I think it is a Sd. Kfz. 7 Kraus-Maffei type KM m 8 pulling a light field howitzer M 16 on a Sd. Anh. 3 trailer (like on pic 2). Here two pics for comparing (source of pic 1: Waffen-Arsenal Special Band 40 "Die Zugkraftwagen der deutschen Wehrmacht 8 - 12 t" by Walter E. Seifert, pic 2: ebay).
Best regards
Bert

Hi Sturm 78,
the truck of the Luftwaffe on Your pic could be the type 502. Here a pic of such a truck (source of the pic: an expired ebay auction).
Best regards

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Out of the blue, I've never seen before such Kaelble. True or fake? And if true, what model?
Looks like it has number plate of Saxony (IM).

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi ilfil,
absolutely no fake! Two of this semitrailers type S 6 G 125 were produced in 1937 for the Gruson Works in Magdeburg. Here a pic out of the book "Kaelble Lastkraftwagen und Zugmaschinen" by Joachim Wahl and Alexander Luig. Thank You very much for posting so great pics.
Best regards
