Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Stone me!
It took me weeks to figure out what the (intact) vehicle was and you manage it in minutes.
Yes, it's a Hanomag 4/20, a very early attempt at a kübelwagen and one of three versions of this model. Enclosed is my drawing of same.
Well done, Max. Over to you.
Rob.

Hi Rob,
Just my lucky day, I guess. Brilliant drawing! I need a little time to come up with something decent but will be back soon..

Hi Max,
thanks for the clue.
So it is a Magirus type M 30 a, Kfz. 42, a Sammlerkraftwagen (battery motor vehicle) or a Nachrichtenwerkstattwagen (signals workshop motor vehicle).
Best regards
Bert

Hi Max,
thank You very much. Without Your help I would not have been able to answer all the questions.
Here is my next question: who can ID this cross-country 6-wheel truck?
Best regards

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hi Bert,
This is a long shot but could it be a Büssing-Nag KV/KD? (Unfortunately I don't have a rear view of this Type).

Hi Max,
that´s it! My compliment! You are so good in identifying, that it is really very difficult to find good pics with suitable vehicles to ID.
Thanks a lot for this very good pic of this truck. Source of my pic: "Lastkraftwagen der Wehrmacht" by Reinhard Frank.
Please, go on with the quiz.
Best regards
Bert

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hi Bert,
Thanks for the compliment and thanks for that rear view pic of this truck which I had not seen before. It's one of my favorite trucks and not too many ended up in the Wehrmacht. I'll be back shortly after I look for something suitable which as you say is getting more difficult.

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hi Bert and Rob,
This is a tough call because you both may be technically correct. Darmont made Morgans under licence in those days and it's hard to tell them apart. But since this pic was taken in France and the driver is obviously a local I will give the nod to Rob. I seriosly doubt the BEF left any Morgan 3 wheelers behind at Dunkirk in any case.
So Mr. Turner take the wheel, Sir.

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
have this old photo in a series of three photos here, no idea so far about the original source ?
(The photo was digitally post-processed.)
For sure a ("Mercedes") Benz, what else...
Reichswehr / Freikorps also, 1920s, is there any idea about the exact model ?
Thanks!
Hans
