Das Reich´s Panzer III Auf L with winterketten

Post by Hernando_Valencia » 17 Sep 2023 08:22

Hello all, this is my second post in the forum, thanks in advance for reading. I hope somebody can help me with the following:

I have been asking for support in other forums during the last 10 years regarding the existence of an image depicting a single Das Reich Panzer III L with winterketten, located in the Kharkov area during the Winter 1942/1943. Sadly, nobody was able to provide to me the information I needed.

Why was that? Why I´ve never received a proper response to my requests? I do not know. But avoiding to negatively consider the members of those forums didn´t have the desire or the will to help me, I prefer to believe that none of them had any plausible or reasonable answer to share in relation with my information requests.

Now I must say that I´ve seen some pictures of Das Reich´s Pz. III Ausf M´s with winterketten in Kharkov, but I have never been able to get a picture of an Ausf L equipped with that kind of tracks during the mentioned location and period of time. Despite the latter, I cannot believe there isn´t a graphic reference of a single Pz. III ausf. L with winterketten (not ostketten) present in the Kharkov area during the cited winter season, whether it had belonged to DR or to any other German Pz. Div.

Then I will really appreciate if somebody can kindly help me letting me know where I can find some reference images of a Panzer III ausf. L (preferably belonging to DR), equipped with winterketten during the battles that took place in Kharkov during the winter of 1942/43.

Many thanks in advance for your kind help and support.

Best regards to all,

Hernando V.

Hello, Aleksey and SIS 5.
I really appreciate your kind help and support.
Although I own a copy of the expensive Restayn's book about Kharkov (J.J. Fedorowicz), in which some of the images that you kindly shared are published, I´ve never seen before most of them.
That's what I needed, many thanks for sharing them ¡¡¡
Best regards,
Hernando V.
