Flakpanzer 38 (t) Gepard in Bayeux museum (France)

Hello,

Looking on my photos and postcards collection, I have found this postcard which comes from the Battle of Normandy 1944 Museum and which is dating from end 90's/ beginning of the 2000's :

It seems like the Panzer on the background is a Flakpanzer 38 (t) Gepard. Here are some photos of the vehicle :

If this vehicle in the museum is a Flakpanzer 38 (t) Gepard, this would be the only one remaining nowadays. Taking photos inside the museum was forbidden when I visited it, however, do someone has better pictures of this vehicle? The museum was recently renovated and it is said to show mainly documents and photos and not many uniforms and vehicles. Who could confirm that? If this Gepard is not exposed in Bayeux, where is it now?

Thanks for your help.

According to preserved tanks part 2 ,by Trevor larkum.

This vehicle was 1 of 4 flakpanzers 38(T) that came of the scap yard of Trun in normandy, and he also said that they can be found in .

1:Bayeux memorial

2:musee automobiles de normandie,Cleres

3:Saumur armour museum

4:Becker private collection

Like you, i've only saw the one in bayeux.
I heaven't seen pictures of the other ones.

I have read some where on the net some months a go that the museum was to be closed.
And that the whole collection was stored somewhere els for making a new museum.
I't won't come back on the old location they said.

Sander

It's really annoying that these vehicles are located in dioramas, since it makes detail photographs impossible.

The Saumur Flakpanzer 38(t) is in storage, as far as I know.

The photos in the Trevor Larkum book show the Saumur example, the Jacques Pichon collection at Cleres has been disbanded since he died approx 10-12 years ago, it is believed that this one is in the UK somewhere.

Looking through an old copy of Military Modelling, August 1984, there is an article on the Flakpanzer 38 (t) by Tony Lawrence. It includes photos, taken in 1978, of one of the four in the scrapyard . Is there any more on the background to their refurbishment and eventual display?

Normally, I only hear Flakpanzer 38t, never heard Gepard. Is it really call Gepard ?
