Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Thank you Max,
here is my next query, a major clue has been removed before the snow came, but I think enough is still visible.
Good hunting,
Kerry.

Hi Kerry,
It appears to be an Opel Blitz bus chassis fitted with the body of a surgical operating room similar to this one on Piet Van Hees' site http://www.pietvanhees.nl/blitzbus/:

Of course, mon ami. And the moulding as well, which is identical to the Stovenose in the second pic, and quite possibly the other two also. (source of all photos is again http://www.pietvanhees.nl/blitzbus/ ):

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hi Max,
I have it as either a stove-nose or a louvre-nose, but I had not seen the louvres on a "standard" Blitz bus. Over to you mon brave,
Regards,
Kerry.

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hi Kerry,
Thanks. Same here. I originally posted "Stovenose or possibly Louver Nose" then edited that after coming across some standard Blitzes of that design on Piet's great site, the best resource for Blitz buses on the www.
Great pic further enhancing your status as the premier collector of odd and unusual vehicle pics!
Back later with the new question. It's only 0530 here and need to grab some more "coffee and".

Maybe a clue is in order.
The manufacturer of this vehicle is in the top 10 of the largest automakers in the world.
Good luck

Hi Rich,
I have no good rear view with raised top but maybe a Skoda Popular 1101 Staff Car? (Skoda is now part of the VW Group).

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Well, in that case nothing seems to fill the bill till you get to Italy. I think it's a FIAT 508C Coloniale - come to think of it Leibstandarte saw action in Italy at one point.
edit: And Bob's your uncle! Cheers,
Max
