Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Re: The official AHF Panzers & other vehicles quiz thread
If I understand correctly the Pz.V-T-34 was first thought to be a mock-up tank in the thread and then a Russian film prop for the flick "Sturm auf Berlin" (original name unknown to me).

Jumped the gun, Bill or what?Bill Murray wrote:OK Guys, try this one.
Markus, Google Iran 1941 and Persia 1941 and somewhere in there you will find the answer. I just did not have the time to look through all the information that is there.
Bill
Phil still has to OK the Marmon-Herrington model number but if he does I'll say Japanese Type 4 Ke-Nu light tank to your question.

OK....steady everybody.....Throw in a few tanks and we all get excited! Peeved was right it is a TH31 (also known as OLAF 1 due to the Swedish turret) based on the Marmon Herrington TK 5 M1933 car. As Bill has already posted, and been answered I propose we continue, in good spirit as always.

We are just getting so exciiiiited!!
Yes, Markus, a KI NU.
Thanks all for the help on the Persian MH AC, I had not a clue.
If I get a chance again, I think I better go back to my beloved soft skins.

Hint:
Both of the portside rear wheels partly hidden behind the Landser on the right in this low-rez photo.

Re: The official AHF Panzers & other vehicles quiz thread
What an absolute mess of a vehicle
The only clue I can see is that the wheels and tyres seem veddy British, oversize tyres and relatively small wheels.
Note too that the main headlamps are standing proud and unshrouded and no Notek lights.
That might indicate a partisan vehicle or one cobbled up right at the end of the war. And again, maybe not, I am lost.

Re: The official AHF Panzers & other vehicles quiz thread
Bill,
My theory is that the oversize front tyres were a measure to compensate for the extra weight of armour up front. The weight and wide tyres must have made the vehicle a beast to drive on a hard surface though.
Despite this lorry's origins, I don't at the moment remember any pics with Noteks. IMO good recognition points are the headlight placing, their (poorly visible) supports and the rather Germanic spare wheel arrangement.

Which would seem to leave us with a Steyr 640 or so as the donor chassis.
Headlamp stalks, spare wheel mounting and slope of the radiator mask.

Exactly Bill,
Quite the FUBAR Umbau and probably a Steyr that steered like a steer. Wonder what's the camel hump under the light-coloured tarp.
Over to you,

Thanks Markus:
Now another one, at least with a little bit of armament to add to the truck.
BTW, your American slang is very good. Did you spend some time over here or just watch a lot movies and TV??

Thanks Bill,
I'm another example of the brutalization of language through screen and tube presentations, I'm afraid.
As for the truck. Autocannone Ceirano 50 CM da 75/27 CK in German service?

Spot on again, Markus:
Rather a lot of gun for a rather small truck, I'll bet the recoil was nasty.

Thank's Bill,
New subject. A bona fide armoured vehicle for a change despite its wooden superstructure and lack of heavy armament.

Another FUBAR, looks like a porta-potty on a tank chassis.
A wasted post, as I have no clue what it is but the thought struck me.
