Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hello Max.
I think that it's a Renault Juvaquatre, a vehicle that was heavily inspired by the Opel Olympia.

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hi Rob. That's it, you are 100% correct. To your point, my question is who inspired who? The Juvaquatre was introduced in 1937. The restyled Kadette and Olympia in 1938.
Please carry on, sir!Cheers,
Max

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hello Max.
Thank you very much for that.
Your question about the shared characteristics of cars from different manufacturers reminded me of the dispute in the 1930s between Porsche and Tatra regarding the design of what we now know as the Beetle. Porsche and Tatra's Hans Ledwinka had worked together and no doubt influence and inspiration passed between them. The dispute was settled, not in the courtroom but by the invasion of Czechoslovakia.
On to the quiz.
This vehicle was built as a prototype staff car. I'm not aware of any other example.
Just the manufacturer will do.
Rob.

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hi Rob,
I have it as a Tempo E 1200 limousine. I didn't know it was originally designed as a staff car. That's the only photo I've seen of it.

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hello Max.
The car is indeed a Tempo.
I have three books on Tempo vehicles. This particular model is not mentioned in any of them and I've not been able to find any other reference to it apart from one website where it's described as a G1200 with closed body (I don't think that it's a G1200). Unfortunately I can't find the website which described it as a staff car; your calling it a limousine certainly makes sense.
I enclose another view of this same car and a photo from one of my books of a special request E600 with two engines (thus an E1200) and all-wheel drive. Perhaps they are experimental design builds. I don't think we'll ever know.
Well done and over to you, Max.

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Thanks Rob,
According to Holger the Tempo V, A, or E 600 designation of the single engine Tempo indicated years built and were virtually identical but built with various body styles. http://www.kfzderwehrmacht.de/Homepage_ ... v_600.html
That might explain these pics having similar captions: Thanks for two very interesting pics which I haven't seen previously.
Back to the quiz, my last several submissions have been solved fairly quickly so I obviously need to step up my game. Here goes nothing :

Hi Bert,
Well done. I just have it as a Walter 1,5 tonner, which I believe is the PN.
Please continue with the quiz

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hi all,
this question seams to be rather difficult. So it is time to give a hint:
the vehicle was made in the United States.
Much luck
