Re: The official AHF Panzers & other vehicles quiz thread
Alan/Brano:
Lessons I used to know but seem to still forget.
Your information is only as good as your source data, which is not always accurate.
If you are dealing in a language/languages you do not know, the possibility for errors becomes even larger.
If you are dealing in a subject that is not in your area of expertise, the chance for error grows exponentially.
I am guilty of at least two here. One source in Rumanian, one in Polish. The Rumanian was translated to English but I got the captions mixed up with other photos. After you called me out on the country of use, I looked further and found the same materiel Brano brought to us but that is in Polish. I can translate all of the written Scandinavian languages, Spanish and Portuguese and get by in French and German but those two languages are far beyond me.
As I now understand the situation the photo I posted is a TKS D and the photo shows a parade in Poland which was attended by Rumanian leaders. The vehicle is thus in Polish service.
From now on I will stick to my soft skinned wheeled and tracked vehicles.
Alan, if your ID was close enough, please take the question. I don't know the difference between a TKS D and a TK10.

Ahhh! That's a Praga TNSPE riot control vehicle. Part armoured and with a machine gun as main armament and a 45mm water cannon as secondary "armament". 7 purchased bt the Romanians in late 1930s and served through the war according to my information (Czech AFVs 1918-48, Pub = Sciffer Military History)

Re: The official AHF Panzers & other vehicles quiz thread
Hip, Hip and all that.
I had not even a clue but I feel vindicated just a little bit in that it was a Czech vehicle used by the Rumanians which was the whole point of my trying to make the quiz interesting again by posting photos of rather odd vehicles used by "Third" countries.

Hello!
Captured Soviet SPG SU-122 during tests (judging by the numbers on the hull which show the thickness of armor).
Best regards, Aleks

No takers? I'm really surprised.
The question is not that difficult - let's not stall the quiz.
Best regards, Aleks
