Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hi Bert,
Oh well. I would have said a BT 4500 but I've not seen one with right hand drive. Maybe someone else has the solution.

Hi Max,
You got it! Very good! It is the type BT 4500. Why do You think that it is a right hand drive?
Now it´s Your turn. Please, go on with the quiz! I´m sure You have another good next question.
Best regards
Bert

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Thanks Bert,
Well, to me the visible part of the wheel looks like it is on the near side of the cab in that view, but I've been wrong before (many times ).
I'll get back with a new quiz question shortly.

Hi Max,
this type had a large steering wheel. So You can easily think that it is on the right side of the cabin. Here two pics for comparing (source of the pics: expired ebay auctions).

Hi Bert,
Thanks for the additional photos! I agree that the BT4500 is LHD but in all honesty the wheel location is to me still inconclusive in the second pic. Be that as it may, here is the new challenge:

The 2nd Sauer looks RHD since the only windshield wiper is on the right and since the G in the door is OK no reversed negative.Maxschnauzer wrote: ↑30 May 2020, 09:00I agree that the BT4500 is LHD but in all honesty the wheel location is to me still inconclusive in the second pic.

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hi Max, hi Markus,
Yes, it looks like there is only one windshield wiper, but the type BT 4500 was produced since 1941. After the occupation of Austria in 1938 first the traffic and then the production of vehicles was changed from RHD to LHD. So all BT 4500 trucks should have the steering wheel on the left side.
Best regards
Bert

Hi Rich,
Yes, that's what I have. The spares are in an unusual place but those 5 bolt disc rims are unique to the Marque, AFAIK. Well done and please carry on.

Hi Max!
I wouldn't call the location of spares unusual- take a look at those Bulgarian Phänomen Granit Kübels: Picture from www.lostbulgaria.com
Picture from Avtoklasika Magazin 2012
And here a restored Phänomen Granit 25H Kübelsitzwagen participates the 2019 St.Georges Day Parade(May 6th) in Sofia, Bulgaria. Picture from Bulgarian Military Academy website
Cheers,
Angel

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hello Angel,
First I want to thank you for those excellent pics of Bulgarian 25H Kübels. I am especially intrigued by the color photo from the BMA website. It looks like a modern day commemoration ceremony. Do you know when it was taken? Back to your question, what I meant as unusual was the spare wheels on the original quiz photo were mounted at the back. From what I've seen before they were either mounted "amidships" like in your pics or further front on the bonnet sides in later models.

Sorry Max, my mistake...
The restored 25H was first shown to the public on May 6th 2019, during St. George's Day Parade in Sofia.
It was accompanied by a another restored vehicle-a Steyr 640- and some motorcycles.
Cheers,
Angel

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Well it's a beautiful restoration. Do you happen to have a pic of the Steyr?
Cheers,
