Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Max,
Many thanks to you - I'm sure that writing my entry in rhyme was what gave me the edge!
Here's my response - see what you make of this prototype.
Experience suggests that you won't have too much difficulty in naming the production vehicle.
Rob.
Hans,
I'll see if I can find any information about the vehicle in your photograph. If I can't, I'm sure that someone will be able to identify the model accurately.
Rob.

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hi Rob,
I have never seen a prototype of the Vidal-Tempo G 1200 but that looks it could be one.

Hello Hans,Hans1906 wrote: ↑11 Aug 2021, 20:01photo benz, 1920s.jpgGuten Abend,
have this old photo in a series of three photos here, no idea so far about the original source ?
(The photo was digitally post-processed.)
For sure a ("Mercedes") Benz, what else...
Reichswehr / Freikorps also, 1920s, is there any idea about the exact model ?
Thanks!
Hans
Although the coachwork is slightly different on this example, The Mannheim 370 series, ca. 1929-early 30's, is the best candidate I can come up with:

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Max,
The prototype is, as you suggest, a Vidal Tempo G1200.
As well as the G1200 there was also a twin-engined lorry (T 1200) and a saloon which is described as either a staff car or a civil version (Zivilausfuhrung) which I illustrate here. I don't know if either of these went into production.
Well done!
You are in control.
Rob.

Thanks for the link. I'd love to visit that place, but I'm afraid I'll have to settle for a virtual tour in the foreseeable future!

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hello Andriy,
Excellent! My sources have this version as the Type ZM 10, but you are correct that it is the predecessor of the MSZ 201, so please proceed with the next question.

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hi Max,
But the Type ZM 10 looked different, and had only one small roller in the tracked undercarriage, unlike the Typ MSZ 201.
Here is a photo of the Type ZM 10 for comparison:

Andriy,
It's a Tatra prototype, here also with saloon bodywork. I don't know if the vehicle went into production.
