Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hello all.
There is good background information on the Scheuch Schlepper in both civilian and military service on the website robdebie.home.xs4all.nl
I enclose a couple of pictures of the vehicle as a farm tractor.
Rob.

Great Photos Rob. I have never seen the civilian version before - much less in use.
Here is my contribution to the quiz - I don't believe this will be particularly difficult but I am looking for exact model

Hi Rich,
That's a Lanz Eil-Bulldog. Exact model is a little tougher. No doubt one of these, IMO most likely a 25 PS with weighted wheels.

Hi Max
I have it as an HR8 model per Holger's site. But your response is good enough for me. Well done. You're up again.
Thanks
Rich

Thanks, Rich. I see your point. Save for the tall stack they look alike. This art-deco inspired car shouldn't be difficult- marque, model and year.
Cheers,
Max

Hi Dirk,
Magnifique! Actually I had it as a 36 Super Aigle 14 but I see by your photo that they look identical: So congratulations and please go on with the quiz. And thanks for the great pic.

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hello Dirk,
This car is extremely interesting and somewhat mysterious. I have it as von Rundstet's personal Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B by Superleggera Touring: BUT there is an interesting discussion here on http://www.coachbuild.com/forum/viewtop ... pano+suizawhere a poster states it is an " incredibly rare 1941 Alfa Romeo S10 with a V12 engine and a Touring body, used by Gen. Feldmarschall von Rundstedt during World War II".
So I guess my final answer is "I don't know" but am looking forward to an interesting discussion and other opinions here.
Thanks for posting this!

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Thanks Dirk,
I see your point: I also have the photo you posted labelled 8C2800B, so there seems to be some question there. As I said it's pretty mysterious.
Moving on, here is the new quiz:

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Max,
I think that the vehicle is a Steyr 1500 Kommandeurwagen although I'm not entirely certain as the layout of the door handle and hinges seems wrong.
However, the angle of the photograph and the curvature of the bodywork might explain this.
Rob.

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hello Rob and Dirk,
Of course you are both correct, but Rob was a little quicker so he gets the nod. I have it as a Steyr 1500 A Kommandeurskabriolett as well. Coachwork is by Gläser (the rear door swing looks OK to me).
Go ahead, Rob.
