Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hello Max,
Thank you very much for that. I was lucky to beat Dirk to the draw!
I read about the Steyr Kommandeurwagen and discovered that the vehicle in your photograph (WH-1224754) was the personal transport of von Arnim who in May 1943 surrendered to the 4th Indian Division in Tunisia. The vehicle was taken in charge by the Sussex Regiment and served with them for several years in Palestine, Italy, Greece and Austria. Now fully restored, the vehicle is on display.
If anyone's interested, there's a great deal of information about the vehicle and its history on the website 'key military.com'.
After all that, my entry in the quiz (the car on the right, rear view), is a bit of an anticlimax I think!
Regards, Rob.

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hi Rob,
Thanks very much for that fascinating background info on the Steyr. Very interesting indeed.
To your question, there's not much to work with but that weird boot lid looks like an Opel Super 6 or Opel 2 liter ca. 1935-1936 or so.

Hello Max.
You're right, not a lot to go on but you picked out the significant detail, namely the Opel's boot lid.
Here's a Super Six being restored.
Well done and please go on with the quiz.

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hello Max and Dirk,
I prepared a set of drawings of a Tempo dreirad a few years ago and studied German three-wheelers in general which explains why I was onto the Framo so quickly. It's not all that well-known a vehicle.
I've been trying to identify the triangular pennant without luck. Any ideas?
Speaking of luck, perhaps you'd like to try your luck with this picture.
Best wishes, Rob.

Hello Kerry.
You're right, the motorcycle is a Bohmerland. I'm not sure about the exact model but here's the Langtouren. Well spotted and you have the quiz.

Hi Rob,
Thank you. Just to stay with the 'bike theme, can anyone name the lead 'bike, plus the other two if you wish!
Good hunting,
Kerry.
