Hello guderianhimself,
Welcome to the Quiz and thanks for your quick answer! You are correct it is a Büssing-NAG 900. It's your turn post the next quiz photo and keep the ball rolling.
Cheers,
Max

Thanks! I'm on the road, hence I'm posting my question only now. This one is probably also not too difficult:

Hello guderianhimself,
I believe that is an early model Henschel 33D1 before they added the brush guard to the bumper.

Is this an original photo? Or photomontage?

My bet is it's photoshopped. The size of the guy firing the gun looks on the small side. Then there's the area under the gun and between it and the guy firing. It looks different from the background around it and obscures the back of the MG shield. The seat looks suspect too. How would it move with the gun when traversed? It also looks like the pole mount impinges on the spare track rack.

Hi all
wrong thread, but here some more pictures.
For me it's original. Akira is collecting photo albums.
I'm sure that these pictures come from an original album.

Armin

For me, this machine gun turret is very strange. As if the author converted the turrets used on HUMVVE.
The 2cm cannon without any cover, and the rifle in a tight armored cover, from all sides.

For me, it's far-fetched, the first photo I still had doubts, the next photos rather make me believe that it's a photomontage.

The bottom photo shows the gunner having an SS decal. So, the question is, what unit is this vehicle assigned to? Where were the pictures taken, if they are real? It looks like Western Europe.

Given the StuG is a late war one with a copula for the commander, and oddly, in the third photo one for the machinegunner that doesn't appear in any of the other photos, let alone the armored position. Then there's the fact it's a command StuG given the two radio antennas...

Something sits uneasy on my eyes, as if the exposure of the gunner is slighty off from that of the Stug. The fact that the aerial seems to vanish just before it passes behind the gun could just be an artifact. I wonder if it could a propaganda photo, like the well known one of the panzer grenadiers jumping off of the Sdkfz 251? Seems a bit staged to me.
Cheers,
Max

Is there any evidence that any StuG IIIG was fitted with two (2) commander's copulas as these photos suggest. If you look at the one that shows from the starboard side (right hand as seen looking forward at the vehicle) where the loader's hatch would be, there is clearly a second copula there under that armored box around the position.

I can see it as a doable thing, but for what reason? Is there any other StuG fitted that way from any photographic evidence?

Hi all
concerning the Stug with 2 cm gun have a look at the links

and

It should clear it up.

Hi Max,

back to the quiz. The vehicle on Your pic could be an Adler type L 6 like the vehicle on the pic of Holger´s site.

Best regards

Bert
