Max,
Thank you very much. And you're right about the appearance of the Skoda being both elegant and purposeful.
Here's my response. I also have a front view of this same vehicle but the emblem on the radiator grille makes identification very easy - so I'll delay posting it.
Regards, Rob.

I think that there is very little to enable identification of the vehicle in the photograph so I'll provide a few clues.
Only forty examples of this luxury vehicle were produced until, in 1934, the company stopped building cars and concentrated on their well-established armaments business.
When the company folded in 2003 it had spent many years in the production of motorcycles and mopeds.
I hope that this will help!

Hi Rob,

what a challenge with this question! Thanks a lot for the clues.
It could be a Simson-Supra, either the type 13/70 PS with six cylinders or 18/90 PS with eight cylinders.

Best regards

Bert

Hello Bert.
An excellent answer to what I thought was a difficult question.
You're quite right, it's a Simson Supra typ A, 18/90. It has a mention on Holger Erdmann's website.
Here's the front view of the vehicle I promised with the prominent lozenge shaped name badge.
Very well done indeed!
I look forward to seeing your response.
Regards, Rob.

Hi Rob,

thank You very much! It was an excellent question! I have learned a lot! Thank You for that!
I didn´t know the company Simson, neither the cars nor the motorcycles and mopeds. I haven´t heard about it. The company was situated in the German Democratic Republic, but I haven´t heard about it here in the Federal Republic, where I was growing up and living.

Here is my new question:
who can ID this Kübelwagen?

Best regards

Bert

Hi Bert,
It's hard to tell for certain but it looks like it could be an Adler 3Gd.

Hi Bert,
Thanks very much. Now let's move on to another Kübel. And no, that's not his nibs in the passenger seat!

Hello Max.
At last! It's a Hanomag 13b, the vehicle with a narrow wheel track which was designed for mountain troops.
The side vent on the bonnet had me foxed for a long time until I found the enclosed image.

Hi Rob,
Correct! Excellent. That's a rare one for sure. Only around 50 were said to have been made. The photos we have shown illustrate the even rarer Commander's Car:

The standard body had a boxy, utilitarian look:

If anyone has any additional photos they would be much appreciated.
Well done Rob, please take the wheel.

Hi Rob,

congratulation! Excellent ID! Unfortunately I don´t have any pic of this car.
But I can post a pic of the Simson-Supra asked for in the before last question by You, Rob.

Best regards

Bert

Hello Bert.
Thank you for the very interesting photograph of the Simson Supra. I tried to find images of the vehicle in military guise but was only able to find one which shows it being used to carry a senior officer at a parade.
I never imagined it as a towing vehicle for a 2cm flak gun. Well done!

Max,
Thank you very much.
Regarding the Hanomag 13b and your request for further information on the vehicle, I blundered about on the AHF and discovered that Kerry had posted some details and a couple of photos some ten years ago; the screenshot will hopefully enable you to track down the relevant page.
Here's my next entry in the quiz.

There's little left of the vehicle but what does remain should enable identification.
Regards, Rob.
