After the C/A at Gela and the other battles on Sicily the 65men remaining within 2./sPzAbt.504 under Oberleutnant Hummel were supposed to be incorporated into the HG but a petition to Guderian by the 504th commander prevented this and eventually the 180 survivors of the 504th formed a new Abt in Wezep in Holland.

Interesting, where did you find this info about the events in Wezep? And does anyone know when they left the local training grounds of Lager Wezep/Oldebroek or where to find this info? Thanks
