The 49 Landsverk 6x4 armoured cars, L-181, L-182 and L-180!

Post by Landsverk180 » 13 Oct 2008 20:59

Hello!

A new little something for the worldwideweb, it is only a very early beta, but I will have to start somewhere.

This will cover all 49 produced Landsverk 6x4 armoured cars of types L-181, L-182 and L-180 exported to:
Lithuania
The Netherlands
Denmark
Finland
Estonia
Ireland

Then also seized/captured and used by:
Germany
"Reds"
Sweden

The target of my research has been, and will be to register as much as possible on
EACH INDIVIDUAL VEHICLE of the 49 built.

It will include production data, specs, vehicle/chassis/engine nrs, delivery, active duty, modifications at factories or improvised ones and known fates. And of course, PHOTOS.

Most people know these vehicles from it's service with German Infanterie Divisionen and Ordnungspolizei.
I welcome any suggestions, corrections or additions! Full credit will be given accordingly!

Hello to all :D; more: Pantserwagen Landsverk L180 - M38.

In May 1937, the Netherlands decided to buy the Landsverk L180 modified for the Dutch demands, later called the M38 armored vehicle (= pantserwagen Model 1938). The modifications were based on the experiences obtained with the twelve Landsverk L181 or M36 armored vehicles purchased in 1935. Among them were the addition of some periscopes on the back of the hull for the gunner-driver. The 14 M38 armored vehicles were due to be delivered in April 1938. Two of them were destined to become commando vehicles.

Other features: Chassis and engine Büssing-NAG (German) V-8. Armament 3 light machine guns Lewis M.20 (7.9 mm.) 1 cannon Bofors of 37 mm. Tracing and tracer antitank munitions. Armor in the turret 9 mm, rest 5 mm thick. 2 driving positions with two drivers.
