► Photothread: German horse-drawn wagons

Postby Sturm78 » 18 Apr 2009 18:16

Hi all,

I propose a new section about german horse-drawn trailers/wagons of the World War II. Information and photos.
I will start with some images of various horse-drawn trailers unknown for me. Can anyone help me to identify them?

Images form Ebay.com

Thanks in advance. Regards Sturm78.

Thanks for your images, sir dude.

In your first photo: a Maschinengewehrwagen If.5 mit Zwillingsockel 36 (mit zwei MG 34)
In your second photo: I think that the photo shows a Hf.7 wagon.

Hi all,

No one can identify the wagons of my first three photos?

Well, then, three more pictures from Ebay:

First photo: Sd.Ah. 401 Luftwaffe field kitchen (it is a motorized trailer but.... )

Second photo: a horse field kitchen with limber (model unknown to me. perhaps Hf.11-12-13 or 14 or WWI model??? ) and another wagon, probably a Hf.1, although it is difficult to ensure.

Third photo: a horse drawn wagon unknown to me.

Can anyone help me to identify them?

I am not well known on horse-drawn-wagons, my spectrum is German cavalry, but for me looks this two-parted wagon like Infanterie-Nachrichtenwagen Nf. 7 or maybe like Af. 4

The best book on this topic is:
Klaus Christian Richter Die bespannten Truppen der Wehrmacht

Horrido!

Hi all,

About books, my problem is that I do not understand the German. :(

Regarding the last photo posted by Adrian: two Hf. 7 wagons

...and another 3 images from Ebay: I think the first two photos show Hf.2 or Hf.3 wagons (4 horses team) while the last picture shows perhaps a Hf.1 wagon with a 2 horses team (leichter Heeresfeldwagen). They are difficult to distinguish for me. :?

Thank you for your images, Francy.

In the first image: another Maschinengewehrwagen If.5 mit Zwillingsockel 36 (mit zwei 7.92mm MG 34) with front wagon (Vorderwagen) and rear wagon (Hinterwagen).
In the second images: I think that this is a requisitioned civilian wagon with a field radio (Torn.Fu.b1, perhaps).
Third photo: I think that it is a civilian wagon also, although it is difficult to ensure.

Hi all,

Adrian, in your last photo the trailer is not seen very well, but it seems a kind Hf. ? with 4 horses team.

I found on Ebay more pictures of horse drawn trailers:
Has someone courage to try to identify them?

Hi all,

A few more photos of german horse-drawn wagons fron Ebay:
I think the second and third photos show probably the same model of wagon; one with a 6 horses team and the other with a 4 horses team.
Regarding the wagon of the first photo, I do not know the model. :(
