Re: Axis Armored Vehicles Quiz
Alan, nearly, it is of that family but a later version. Your Tiger photo, is it the one they've just found in Leningrad of an early production model?

Ifor, Yes but not just "an early production model" but the actual first one off the line according to the Chassis number they found.

I didn't realise it was the actual first one. Not much chance of a rebuild though by the looks of it.
The above is BA6 built under license for the Spanish army. It was captured by the French and purloined by the Germans.

Re: Axis Armored Vehicles Quiz
Hi,
it's been nearly a month and I'd like to see this quiz going, although I´m no expert in armored vehicles. So I want to take up the suggestion of Max, to make an attempt and to present a question in this thread. Maybe a little too easy. But I think it´s better than to wait a long time for the next question (source of the pic: an expired ebay auction).
Regards
Bert

Ferdinand/Elefant.
For me a Ferdinand is the original build, sans hull MG, as seen on the northern front during the Kursk operations, July 1943.
Elefant is after the addition of a hull MG.
But in this photo, even with some photoshopping, I cannot discern the presence or otherwise of the MG.

It is painted/marked as an Italian vehicle when in fact it was captured from the Hungarians who were responsible for the little added commander's cupola thing.

Re: Axis Armored Vehicles Quiz
Alan,
glad you agree with me!
It is the exhibit in Kubinka.
One cannot disagree that the vehicle is an Italian tank, but I also agree that it is a variant produced for and only used by, the Honved.
But I would rather see it in an inaccurate paint job, well preserved, than not see it!
Kubinka is an excellent museum with many unique vehicles, notably the Hungarian collection - 3 assorted Toldi, a Nimrod, a Turan II and and a Zrinyi - not to mention the CV 3/35
Over to you Alan,

Here we go, I am sure of the identity of the vehicle but not so sure about this configuration.
