Hi all,

Thanks, bam. Here is the next quiz question. I'm sure you all will have no problem getting this one.

Hi Armin, will do. Okay, so the photo I posted is indeed Japanese; good eye bam. The hint is that in its unarmored form the vehicle was a testbed for an anti-aircraft gun, partly due to its exceptional traction, but never saw production.

Is it this....
"Type 98 Ko-Hi halftrack, armoured prototype." ?
.
Derived from this, the type 98 20mm AA halftrack :

Haha, yeah bam, you got it. The hint made it way too easy methinks.

Here is the Type 98 Ko-Hi (Armored) from the side.

Thanks, I wouldn't have got it without the AA clue, that lead to the side view of the unarmoured 20mm AA Type 98 HT, which lead to the more frontal image image of the normal type 98 HT, which has an identical bumper to your mystery quiz image.
The armoured type 98 must be very rare, no images appeared in any of my Google searches that I tried for solving the quiz.

Try this. Common vehicle, uncommon angle.
.
Biggest help for you is to draw your attention to the slightly out-of-focus mesh grill in the foreground. It's a useful identifier. For the rest, you've got a frame antenna, a single open hatch, some hinges, and the lifting hook. The cheeky smiling bloke will definitely not help you....He's my joker.

Hi Bam
I think it could be the motor deck of a Panzerbefehlswagen III.
