I don't know but no doubt it was an American truck, which were the prevalent vehicles here both before and after the war. Now almost all the trucks are Japanese here.

Max

If you find a photo of the American truck with sleeper cab in the Philippines, please share!

I'll keep my eyes open, Dima but it's mostly short haul stuff over here.

Hi Bill,
There is no such photo. Dima just asked me to be on the lookout for any American sleeper trucks over here and try to snap a photo; sorry for the confusion,
Cheers,
Max

Hi Max:
Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought he was referring to an existing photo that you were both aware of.

I do agree with you in that other than the odd import that may have been supplied for some special project or so, there was probably no market for a sleeper cab truck in the Philippines. Maybe not even today.

Regarding the dominance of Japanese makes there today, I wonder if Duterte's recent negotiations with China might not result in a flood of Chinese products into the Philippines including cars and trucks.

At the risk of veering even further OT you both raise interesting points. In fact there was a huge scandal here last year under the previous administration involving the procurement of 466 fire trucks from China. The problem resulted from shenanigans involving the contract, not the vehicles themselves. They seem pretty well built, but there are concerns about a service network, spare parts, etc. http://cnnphilippines.com/investigative ... tiny.html1

Interesting pic but with that exhaust stack it looks more like a Maschinensatz than a sleeper cab. My guess is to provide power to whatever is going on in that trailer.
