Schwerer Wehrmachtschlepper

Postby yantaylor » 26 Aug 2017 19:19

Hi every one, can any body help me with some data on the Schwerer Wehrmachtschlepper?
I have managed to track down most of the data on this half-track and its variants, apart from trench crossing and totals.
So does any one know just how many of each variant was produced?
The main four are;
Schwerer Wehrmachtschlepper [unarmoured]
Schwerer Wehrmachtschlepper [armoured]
3.7cm Flak 43 Auf Schwerer Wehrmachtschlepper
15cm Panzerwefer 42 Schwerer Wehrmachtschlepper

Thank you
Yan.

Hello Yan,
If you have not already got a copy of Panzer Tracts No.22-3 "mittlere Zugkraftwagen 5t and Schwerer Wehrmachtsschlepper" you should order one right away. There are some 18 pages of history and photos along with detailed (and accurate) drawings by Hilary Doyle, 11 views of the unarmoured versions and 5 views of the armoured Sfl with the Flak 43.

Hi Fred. sorry in the delay mate.
I will look up that book my friend, thanks.

I do have an old book about German half-tracks, I got it when our local library had a clearance sale about 20 years ago, it cost me about 50p, which was really cheap.
The book is called "Halbkettenfahrzeuge" German Half-Track Vehicles and it was written by Walter J. Spielber and Uwe Feist and was issued in 1968.
It has a page on the Wehrmachtsschlepper, but little on the variants.

Regards
Yan.
