Hi,
You can notice that the truck below has still its French plate.
M 52917
The M 1 to 99999 indicates the seconds series of orders and deliveries (1938). It does not allow to assignate with the plate the truck to a precise administrative military region.
For example B 50001 to 99999 would indicate the 2nd military region (Amiens), J 840000 to 850000 would indicate Tunisia etc.
Regards,
David

another
Hi guys,
here is what I believe to be a Renault B1 in the hands of the Waffen SS, from ebay, it seems to have had an extra vision port added to the hull, which looks very German in origin, but I might be wrong there.
Cheers
Steve

Hi Sander,
Yes interesting photo indeed. I saw it on ebay too and it was the first time I saw this kind of modification.
I talked with Pascal Danjou about it and he showed me a photo of an other such vehicle. It seems to be a lengthened R35 chassis but it is not clear at all if it was a French test or modification, a vehicle produced for civilian tasks or a later German modification.
Regards,
David
