Himmlers car

#1

Post by beinbruch » 06 Sep 2018, 10:06

Hello
I hope that someone can help me with this question

When visiting Minsk in 1941 Heinrich Himmler was driving the car visible on this video from around 1:28 - 1:38

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtwDWrPMY9o

Does anyone know which company produced it and the model of this car?

Thanks a lot

That's a Horch 901 Cabriolet; cf. 2nd & 3rd photo at http://kfzderwehrmacht.de/Homepage_engl ... __pkw.html Video probably not in original format since the car looks a bit low and wide.

Hi,

This Cabriolet Kommanderwagen has the number SS-1, its looks to be detachable, and there are photos of Himmler in other cars also carrying SS-1, so it seems he took his number with him on trips.

Hello tigre ;

BMW 335 is correct.

A very similar car, a 1938 Mercedes-Benz 170V, but in this case it belonged to SS leader Karl Hermann Frank.
