Hi everyone,
Can someone explain the meaning of this marked applied to a knocked-out French Char Bi bis in May, 1940. Could it refer to the II. PzAbgt from the 25th Panzer Regiment, 7th Panzer Division?

Thank you ! Dave

Not 100% sure, but it more possibly refers to Panzerbeutestab 2 which was created to coordinate the recovery, transfer and reporting of vehicles and spare parts. This particular Stab was fomed using members from the 4.Pz.Div. and stationed at Brussels. The three other staffs were stationed in the area of 1) the mouth of the Loire (1.Pz.Div.); 3) Nancy (8.Pz.Div); and 4) 3 km SE of Brussels (10.Pz.Div.).

As far as I know these were only created in July 1940, so if these markings precede that date we'll have to look for another unit.

Hi jpz4.

These images were taken in May 1940, so I guess it's another recovery unit.

Cheers, Dave
