Tiger 111 at Villers-Bocage

Post by Halftrack » 17 May 2019 11:06

I want to build a model of this Tiger, which I understand to be turret number 111. Its a late version, and to me looks like it has the monocular gun sight. Is there anything else that I need to be aware of, for example the turret roof armour etc on this tank?

Also, has anyone been able to decipher what is written on the building behind?

any information/pics will be most gratefully received.

The Germans tried to recover this Tiger. Maybe the engine had enough life left in it to power the tank forward a few feet where it collided with the wall of the window in front before giving up for good or (more likely as the towing shackles have gone from the front) it was pulled forward and then completely siezed up.
