Panzer III F and the BOF

I have some conflicting sources on the Panzer III F:

Production of the PzKpfw III Ausf G with the 5cm gun was planned to begin in June 1940, but the first tanks were not accepted until July and were not in service use until August 1940. As a result, none took part in the French campaign.

Some Sources, state a Handful were in action in the BOF, but there second hand sources, can anyone clear this up ?

III F/G with 5cm gun were first delivered in July 1940 according to Panzertracts 3-2. Highly doubtful they were rushed to France.
Book lists 17 Panzer III with 5cm gun as accepted in July but does not specify whether this is just Ausf. G or F+G
