In 1940 the Germans collected this French 7.5 cm 1897 artillery model and changed it using a modified 5 cm PAK 38 carriage. HEAT HL/B allowed it some success on the Eastern Front. Its September 1942 H.Dv.119/319 Firing Table gave Its original AP ammo, made earlier by the Poles, "7.5 cm K.Gr.Patr.Pz. (p)", a 570 m/s muzzle velocity and at 1500 meters 448 m/s, time to range of 2.97 seconds and a 47(17)% accuracy (Breite 0.9, Hohe 2.0). HL/B(f) with a 450 m/s muzzle velocity, 302 m/s at 1500 meters, time to range 4.19 seconds, accuracy 61(26)% (Breite 0.7, Hohe 1.5).
The January 20,1943 Panzer-Beschusstafel A8 simply shows the HL ammo against Russian armor.

A glowing report. Perhaps, haphazard Soviet tank methods...but still the Italians felt it was a good weapon.

The fighting referred to in this report took place within the framework of the 6. Armee's advance towards Stalingrad (Battle of Kalach), specifically in the operation against the Soviet bridgehead at Serafimowitsch.
