Protrusions on sides armored exhaust sleeves Tiger II ?

#1

Post by PanzerBrigade » 24 Mar 2021, 22:02

Hello,

A question for Tiger II / Jagdtiger experts :
what was the purpose of the protrusions (left & right) on the sides of the armored exhaust sleeves ?

Some Tiger II / Jagdtiger show those protrusions only on one sleeve; some on two sleeves.

Regards,
Hans

If you mean the mushroom shaped things on the sides...they Could be lifting lugs, places used to hook onto when lifting these massive lumps of metal...? They’d weigh a few hundred kilos each I’d guesstimate.

Indeed, I mean those mushroom-shaped things.
I already thought, that they could be lifting plugs, but I wasn't 100% sure.
Thanks for your input !
