Congratulations Andre,

Where did you find the BMW, and hopefully you will restore the motorcycle back to its original condition...

Good luck for your restoration, best whishes to Thüringen.

P.S. I bought a russian M72 in the 1980s, similar to the BMW R 71, with the original sidecar, we had lots of fun with the
M72, whish, I still own it... https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/M72_Motorrad
Back then we bought two M72s from Poland, both with the original sidecars, price then about a little more than 2000,- german Mark
for one of the bikes.
Two young men from Poland drove the bikes over to Germany, their "licence plates" were handmade from a piece of black rubber,
inscribed with a brush in silver letters.
Both sidecar bikes were running quiet well, the M72 models are indestructible, they run even with cow piss and waste oil, built to last...

Re: BMW R12 1. SS Infantarie Brigade
I bought it 07/20 in this condition sadly only the frame had grey under the Black but i buyed a bunch of grey original parts over the last six month from Russia,Norway France ,Litivia, Greece, ...
Made the Project really more exspensive then planed but... it is what it is.
Engine is done
Gearbox nearly done
Kardan nearly done
all by myself.
I will drive it this year for sure.
