That would increase long range accuracy, right? Or rather make the shells easier to spot, this allowing for better rangefinding due to shell tracking.

It should as long as it doesn't burnout. They did put tracers on the HL/C also. But I asked at one of the shell collecting sites, and they have very knowledgeable EOD guys, and they say most L70 HE shells recovered did not have it. One person said he did see one in France. I believe there is video online of Panthers firing HE. I will try and dig it up.

The US put tracers on HE in Korean war. I would imagine it would help especially when firing at longer ranges in the hills.
