Luftwaffe airfield fire brigades / engines

#1

Post by Tank144 » 07 Oct 2021, 12:55

Hi all,

I am looking for information about the „rescue teams“ on German airfields.
I would like to learn which vehicles they used.

I believe most times they had the Tanklöschfahrzeug TLF 25/40 Henschel D33 kfz. 343,
Any kind of ambulance
What else?

Reason why I ask is, that would like to build everything in 1/144.

Thanks

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

an interesting question. I have found only pics of the Phänomen Granit 25 H ambulance. Source: ebay. But I´m sure that there were also other types of ambulances.

Regards

Bert

Indeed, an interesting question...

Discussion in the FdW, started in the year 2012:

Internet links on this subject are widely scattered under many keywords, unfortunately, also very many historical photos...

Hi Thomas,

here a pic of another ambulance (Phänomen Granit 1500 S) on an airfield in Italy, autumn 1944. Source of the pic: Waffen-Arsenal Sonderband S-19: "Fahrzeuge und Geräte auf Flugplätzen der deutschen Luftwaffe vor 1945" by Joachim Dressel/Manfred Griehl.

Hello Laurent,

many thanks, I like your blog. Not exactly what I was looking for, but it will help me a lot.
Meanwhile I have updated my Henschel D33 fire engine, the first version had several small mistakes.

regards

Thomas
