Hi,

The Stug III above was part of the SS Norland Divisions attempt to breakout of Berlin, the StuG has stopped after just passing over the Weidendammer Brucke in Freidrichstrasse, in the background can be see the S Bahn bridge over Freidrichstrrasse and the raised station platforms to the right.

In front of this StuG a few netres further up Freidrichstrasse would be a mass of destroyed vehicles, that had attempted the unsuccessful breakout.

Its a late G version, no Zimmerit, barrel support fitted, remote operated rooftop MG fitted, shell deflector metal fitted to the front of the cupola, either MIAG or Alkett manufacture.

cheers leonard paul

Also, it has the 'co-ax' MG.

It's a nice late G, with co-axial and rundum MGs and probably a rotating cupola Hatch.

I have just discovered this T-34-85 from an album I am currently working on with my scanner. A lot of Battle of Berlin photos but only this one has a tank. Russian text on a paper tag says: A bridge over Spree River at Reichstag.

I think that's the moltke bridge, the one they attacked over to get access to the Reich stag area.
