Re: Vehicle identity requests
Thank you, Max, although I think the truck of your image is a L2500, not a L3000

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Sturm 78, hi Max,
to the Mercedes-Benz trucks:
I think, that the truck on Your pic, Sturm 78, is the type L 3000, an export version with another cabine, flatbed and bumper. Over 3800 pieces of this type were exported from 1938 until 1941. And I agree with You, Sturm 78, that the truck on the pic Max posted is not the type L 3000, but L 2500, because the mudguards are merging into the bumper. Here a pic of the type L 3000 from the year 1938 for comparing (source: Autotypenbuch: Typenbilder der Deutschen Kraftfahrzeugindustrie).
Best regards
Bert

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi von Thoma,
Your car cannot be a Horch. I think it is an Adler type 3 Gd like on the two pics further down (source of the first pic: www.kfzderwehrmacht.de, second pic: https://militärtechnik.com/adler-typ-3-gd-kuebelwagen/).

Bert

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Sturm 78,
it is difficult to say from this perspective. The type 501 has five flaps on the side of the motorhood and the engine FD 6 with 110/120 hp, the type 502 has four flaps on the side of the motorhood and the engine GD 6 with 135/145 hp. The same type of the Luftwaffe is to see on Holger´s site (www.kfzderwehrmacht.de), here with four flaps. So I think that the vehicle on Your pic is also the type 502.
Best regards
Bert

Hi Sturm 78,
yes, that it is. It is a vehicle of the Deutsche Reichsbahn and the Mercedes-Benz 5-tonners had the registration numbers from 40 . . . on.
