Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hello Sturm
thanks for the infos. I try to post another picture. I think the trailer in the background is a Sd.Ah 468 too.
is the step in the roof typical for both types or only for the 468?
regards
Henning

Henning:
Does your computer have any sort of photo editing program??
If it does and you can give us the name of the program, someone can surely help you.

Hi BertSIS 5 wrote:Hi all,
can anybody of You ID the trucks in front of the pic in spite of the distance.
Thanks in advance.
Bert
I try to answer.
I think its a 4,5t truck , there are 4 fields in the " Seitenklappe"
there is a sign on the radiator,
both lamps are on the bumper mountet,
both "Peilstangen" are extremly right and left mountet on the bumper
and the radiator is very cornered.
I think its a MAN L4500 S or A for 80%
for the missing 20%
I never saw a MAN with " Einheitsführerhaus" and the bonnet seems a little bit to long! maybe that is for the perspektive.

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Henning,
I think that the step or stair in the roof is only in Sd.Ah.468 trailer, not in the Sd.Ah. 469.
About photos, Have you the Paint program? if so, you copy and paste the image and:
Sturm78.

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hello Bert.
Your lorries are for sure not MAN ML 4500. Because of the Einheitsführerhaus, they are of German/Austrian make. I'm not sure if both vehicles are of the same make. Do you have some information when the photo was made?
Some candidates:
Fross-Büssing 4000
FAUN L 400 D
Krupp L/LD 3,5 M 142/122
Very hard to identify because of the bad quality of the photo.
Regards, Holger.

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Holger,
thank You very much for Your help. I think like You, that it cannot be a MAN ML 4500. The pic is out of a booklet to the movie about "Der verdammte Krieg: Das Unternehmen Barbarossa" of the ZDF, o project of the German ZDF and the Russian Gosteleradio in 1991. The text to the pic: "Der Aufmarsch: LKW-Transporte im Grenzgebiet der UdSSR im Sommer 1941". I excuse me for the bad quality of the pic, but the small pic is scanned out of this booklet and You cannot get a better quality.
Thanks again
Bert

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hello Befehl.
No. 2 could be a Stoewer of the D series which was made from 1920 to 1928. The flat radiator mask indicates a late model.
Regards, Holger.

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi all,
maybe You can help me to ID the ambulance on the pic, it´s not a German one, it must be a captured one of the Commonwealth. Source of the pic: Francois de Lannoy: Afrikakorps. The text to the pic: "This photograph, taken in the Bir Hacheim sector, at the end of the fighting, shows a field hospital set up in the middle of the desert. British wounded await transfer in the shade of a tent canvas stretched between two vehicles.
Thank in advance.

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Looks like an Austin K2Y ('Katie'), maybe with one or two non standard details (bigger headlights, solid instead of canvas flap door?)
