Hi Befehl,
I don't have my personal reference material on hand at the moment, but from what I can derive from this source, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMR_35), there were a total of 10 AMR 35 ZT3 produced for the French military prior to the German invasion of 1940.

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Any Idea on these? What do the markings stand for? I know the G refers to Guderian.
Both pictures are crops from the same photograph - I merely cropped them to make details easier to see. Dated Juli 41 on reverse.
Any help would be appreciated!!

Re: Vehicle identity requests
The Tactical symbol is for a Kraftfahrkompanie, the 3 to its right I would take to be the vehicle number and the 605 under it might be the unit number.

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hallo, some pics for unit identification: At first, there is I think SdKfz 7 with armoured cabin, towed an Flak 18. This picture was taken in October 1938 - I´m wonder which type uf unit (LW, Heer) use this type of vehicles? From whit period it was produced and how many were build? The 2nd pic show vehicles of some Inf.Rgt.(mot.) at March 1939 during occupation of rest Czechoslovakia. The trucks are probably Opel BLITZ, but what abouth personal vehicles and their tactical symbol? Thanks for reply.

Re: Vehicle identity requests
The sign on the cars might be a medical unit symbol which was a triangle with a cross on the top but being pre-war they could also be the map symbol for a machinegun which was sometimes used then. The Armoured SdKfz 7 were used by a schwere Panzerjäger Abteilung in 1940, I can't remember the number

Hi all,
I got these pictures on Ebay. According to the photocaption are taken at a captured French factory.
Does someone know the model of the trucks? I think US origin but...

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Sturm:
In the first photo, are GMC AFWX 354 6X4 vehicles.
In the second, both those vehicles and in the foreground GMC ACKX 353 4X4 vehicles.
When I return to my home, I will post better photos of both.
Bill

Re: Vehicle identity requests
That looks more like a three wheeler truck towing a German Ah 469, I have no idea what the three wheeler is though.

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Francy and Alan:
I agree with Alan on the trailer, a Teletype Connection Trailer in English.
The three wheeled tractor still escapes me. I have good references on such vehicles produced in Germany and cannot find a match. The cammo pattern suggests something that came up from Italy, where such vehicles were also used but my Italian references are not strong.
I will pursue the 'Italian Connection" further.

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi,
Are you sure that the "trailer" is a trailer, it looks more like a truck with the engine bonnet removed, is not that an engine in the front ? I'm talking here of a very short bonneted truck, very Italien maybe ? a photo I do have of a trailer of this type shows it to also have three side windows but also two side doors, one towards the front and one towards the rear side of the body, there is also an access door in the rear end of the body.
Also note the wheel rims, this "trailer" has single tyre/rim at the front and what could be a double tyre/rim at the back *very truck like), whereas the trailer I have seen has identical single rims/tyres all round (same as the front on this photo).
cannot say what truck it might be, but something Italien looks possible (like the tricycle truck)
cheers Spannermann

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Spannerman, Yes I am sure that this is a picture of a trailer. This particular trailer had single , steering, front wheels and double wheels on the rear, fixed, axel. It also had the mudguards on the front wheels. A truck, for example the Blitz, would have its front wheels a lot further forward than is the case here. Not great pic but the only one I have.
