Re: Vehicle identity requests
Anyone any idea what this is? It's based on a Czeck Tatra OAVZ 30 Armoured Car, but is it a German conversion, or as I suspect a post war stop gap for the new Czeck army? Check (sorry!) the vehicles in the background.

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Phil:
I am sending this off in a hurry as I am away for some hours, but.......
As you know, armoured vehicles are not in my area of research but I do recognize the vehicle as the model you describe.
However, the registration plate, the uniform of the lad to the side and more importantly, what I seem to see as Tatra and perhaps Praga vehicles of the early war period in the background in very pristine condition would indicate to me that this is a photo taken prior to the German takeover.
Of course, I can always be wrong as I often am.
Bill

Excelent pic. This is two rarity vehicles "pre-prototypes" OA vz.30 (armoured T 26 (Tatra 4/12)). Designation number 13.321 is transporter half machine gun unit. On the left is command post vehicle with opened turm (13.322).

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Yes it is a Hanomag SS-55, just look at where the wheels are placed. Some Hanomag SS-100s have a cab like the SS-55 but has 4 doors instead of two, yours looks like it has two doors.

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Now its my turn.
What type of tank is this (the one with copyright on it)???????? I'm pretty good at identifying armour but his is hard.
--I think this is Panther Ausf F but only one of these was made.
--It's too small to be JagdTiger.
--Its superstructure is the wrong shape to be a Jagdpanther.
--Its chassis seems like a Panther chassis
the picture below is a Jagdtiger showing its too big to be the mystery tank.....any ideas

Hello!
Best regards, Aleks
Why do you think it is not an Ausf A or Ausf G?Luftflotte2 wrote:I think this is Panther Ausf F but only one of these was made.

Re: Vehicle identity requests
It looks like it has a mantlet similar to a JagdTiger and it also looks like it has a superstructure instead of a movable turret. I've asked this question on ww2incolor.com they don't know what it is.AVV wrote:Hello! Why do you think it is not an Ausf A or Ausf G?Luftflotte2 wrote:I think this is Panther Ausf F but only one of these was made.

But I think your right the person on the turret covers the side of the mantlet. That was a dumb moment

Maybe a 1936-37 International C-300. Looks a lot like this one at http://www.adclassix.com/a5/36internationalcoe.html

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi there George!
Just curious...
Why (when found on eBay.de) did you not post the original photo caption?
Very interesting photo. I like the covered windshield... good advertising strategy
So what exactly is it... A "wind-up" or "remote-controlled" unmanned radio car?

It would have saved me the time it took looking for "Fernlenhwagen"2.WK SdKfz LKW Fernlenkwagen Funkwagen WH 40841
