Hi, does someone know what is the armored vehicle in the background? The picture was taken at the German victory parade at Paris in 1940.

Hi Max,
It could be M25 or M27, with what's visible it probably isn't LWB version M30. The bonnet sides are with long louvers, probably late type.
Cheers!

Hi Jose,

to Your question about the camouflaged trucks. I think that they are Chevrolets model 1936.

Best regards

Bert

Hi Alif, hi Bert,

excuse me, please! A little correction: the armored vehicle has a loop antenna. So it is the radio version of Sd.Kfz. 221 with the designation Sd.Kfz. 223. Here two pics out of the book "Die deutschen Panzeraufklärer 1935 - 1945" by Wolfgang Fleischer and Richard Eiermann.

Regards

Bert

Hello,
Can someone please tell me more about Reichs-Autozug Deutschland? There are references to it on the web but alas I don't speak German. Was it an organization similar to Hilfszug Bayern?
I have two photos of their vehicles here:

Hi Max,

fortunately I have the booklet "Reichsautozug "Deutschland" und der Hilfszug "Bayerm" " by Horst Hinrichsen and so I can answer to Your question. The "Reichsautozug "Deutschland" was an instrument of the propaganda in this time. The vehicles and the equipment should prepare and accompany big events of the Nazi party NSDAP and the Third Reich. Here a paper of the propaganda ministry:
"The "Reichsautozug "Deutschland" is serving the purposes of the propaganda, the separate platoons shall be used during big events to install quickly the loudspeakers at such demonstrations. Special vehicles with all modern equipment for the transmission by radio and wireless are available for this purpose".
The "Reichsautozug "Deutschland" was ordered at the end 1933 by the Nazis at the Magirus company in Ulm. The appropriate equipment of loudspeakers could supply up to 300.000 visitors with propagandistic slogans at such demonstrations, for example at the Reichsparteitag in Nuremberg or at the big events 1st May Labor Day. The "Reichsautozug "Deutschland" had its first public appearance during the official opening of the part of the Reichsautobahn (motorway) between Cologne and Düsseldorf.
The "Reichsautozug "Deutschland" hat four platoons. First the platoons had not so many vehicles:
- the main platoon "Munich" with 21 vehicles
- the platoon "Donau" (Danube) with six vehicles
- the platoon "Rheinland" (Rhineland) with six vehicles
- the platoon "Niedersachsen" (Lower Saxony) with six vehicles

Later the platoons got additional vehicles and at the end each of these four platoons had more than 80 vehicles.

Here the structure of the "Reichsautozug "Deutschland":
I. radio broadcast communication and transmission equipment
II. sound film recording and reproduction
III. central power station
IV. installation and construction platoon
V. transport platoon in the concentration area
VI. material and personnel transport platoon
VII. ration supply - medical and repair platoon

Best regards

Bert
