Hi Max,
I was thinking along similar lines, but the louvres look more like a 230 Mercedes to me. But, as ever, I am not 100%, it could be a 170V.
Cheers,
Kerry.

Hi Max,
On second viewing, I am with you now, a 170V converted for pressurised gas.
Sorry,
Kerry.

Hi sturm. Yes KM made the prototype. In between series productions on some occasions changes where made sometimes minor/major. Iv also seen KM put their logo on wheel hubs i think i recall. Ill study the known photos and see if i can notice anything visually to answer my own question. Thanks for the help

So Sd. kfz 6 KM l 4. suggestion on KM because? I see BN made a series of 8 of these. Apart from KM writing their name on the hood. What differences exist to identify the manufacturer type here?
The vehicle was designed by KM, who built the prototype. The 8 series vehicles were built by BN.
In most cases the manufacturer can only be distinguished if his logo is seen on the front.

Actually what I wanted to highlight is that it is a SdKfz 6, not a SdKfz 7

So i imagined as this had the same trailer load, from the same group of photos with the same unit symbol it was the rear end of the l 4. However i see it hasnt got the tyre mounts and has some difference with the rear end of the l 4. I look at the l 5 and see similar chassis, but the l 5 has a wider single boot, where as this has shorter split design. Can anyone ID the type here?

What kind of vehicle is this?
Düsseldorf, Germany during WW2. Newly wed couple with their natural gas(or coal gas) operated car

Hi Alif and Dirk,
Look at the wheels. I think it's a Mercedes-Benz 170V.
Thank you Max and others

Hi kerry, hi nuyt,

excuse me, please, for my delay. An excellent ID, nuyt, my compliment! Here two pics and a drawing of this rare vehicle for Your collections. Sources: ebay and "Kraftfahrzeuger und Panzer des österreichischen Heeres 1896 bis heute" by Walter J. Spielberger.

Best regards

Bert
Thanks for those pictures, SIS 5! The top one features in the Vanderveen book I mentioned. Great and rare vehicle!
Have a nice day!

Hello I have question regarding MB LG 3000 trucks.
What is the thing at the bottom of the radiator that is always covered that looks like a winch? A winch?
Thanks, John
