Hi Max,

for me the car looks like a Hanomag 3/16 cabriolet. Here two pics of this car.

Hello Max,
The only recognisable uniform is the Heer NCO, second left. The collar patches on the driver also look to be Heer litzen. The others, in generic work uniform, could well be RAD called in to help, but could equally be Heer soldiers in work clothes to protect their uniforms whilst doing a dirty job.
I did not at first spot the loose cable attached to the truck. So your idea does look very possible, the truck to pull the front end up and the cables looped around the trees to try to pull it sideways, as you suggest.
All the best,
Kerry.

As you know, I'm not much of a uniform expert.

#2 Opel Admiral:

#3 Is a little difficult for me. The bonnet louvers look similar to a Horch 853a but overall the car looks shorter and appears to have a flat windscreen rather than a vee. Hopefully someone can solve the puzzle for both of us.
Cheers,
Max

@ Sturm78 - I believe the vehicle is an Erhardt E-V/4, a German WW1 era armoured car, which became very popular with the German police after 1918. I think it may be one of the vehicles built specially for the police after the war, as it appears to have late type wheels and a different turret from the WW1 vehicles. I think that would make its title Erhardt Polizei Sonderwagen 21. I noticed it has Schtzpolizei written o the side. There is a short artilce about it on Wikipedia, I believe.

Hi everyone!
What is this unknown modification of an armored car with inclined frontal armor? Was it some kind of prototype?

Hi Hoss, hi Sturm 78,

You are right, the armored car on the pic is an Ehrhardt type 21, in German "Sonderwagen für Polizeizwecke". The vehicle on the pic belonged to the protection police (Schutzpolizei) of Saxonia with its capital Dresden. Here a pic of this vehicle of the Schutzpolizei in Saxonia (source of the pic: "Die Kraftfahrzeuge der Polizei und des Bundesgrenzschutzes" by Werner Oswald.

Best regards

Bert
