Hi Holger,

thank You very much. I thought it could be a Büssing-NAG, but I couldn´t ID the truck. I haven´t seen such a type, yet.
For me it looks a little bit more like the type 504 with the shorter flatbed. And for a snow plough it would be good to have a cross-country version.

Hi Henning,

to Your truck. I think like You. It could be a Hansa-Lloyd 2,5t. Maybe it´s the 2ton-truck of Hansa-Lloyd. I don´t think that it is a Borgward 3t G.W. It doesn´t fit. Please compare it with the other trucks. The Hansa-Llloyd-truck is smaller.

I am staying away from the Borgward/Hansa LLoyd vehicles as I always get it wrong.

The tanker is a Matford ex French and maybe civilian. The vehicle behind that is a 1935 Ford possibly French and also civilian. As far as I can tell, the two vehicles behind the Ford are Opel Blitz 3 ton 4X2 vehicles.

Bert I think you are right. If the radiator or the hole truck is smaller, i will asked friends wich owns fire-cars on Hansa-Lloyd and borgward.

I think here is the important difference: the hole for the motor-crank. Please compare the pics and zoom the foto-historiker.

Hi Bert:

If I am correct, you have a rather rare vehicle here in a rather strange place.
I believe it is a Volvo, possibly an LV120 as I have copied here.
Volvo's were sold in the Baltic countries and of course in some numbers in Finland.
If I am correct, it should have come from one of those countries.

thank You very much for ID this really rare vehicle. I thought it could be an American truck, maybe a GMC. You are right, it is a Volvo. In the Finnish book Moottori-Ajoneuvot 1919 - 1959 by Markku Mäkipirtti I have found a pic of a Volvo truck with Finnish soldiers, very similar to the one You posted. The info to the truck is only Volvo, nothing more.

This small vehicle is listed in one of Ronald Kaltenegger's book as an "Erlkönig" -- purpose built for mountain troops. It's not a Kfz 1 or Kfz 2 from what I can tell. Looks smaller than a Kubelwagen. The canvas top appears very tall on this very small car. Anyone have a photo of the complete vehicle?
